Take That on ITV1's Countdown to Midnight!

Date: 31st December 2007
Time: 11:15 pm until 12:45 am
Channel: ITV1

Take That
top off a remarkable year for them with this spectacular stage show, supported by the Sugababes, that is being broadcast live on ITV1.

They will be performing live from the O2 arena (which lies directly on the Meridian Line) and this New Year celebration promises to bring the ultimate party into everyone's living room as Gary, Howard, Jason and Mark perform hits from their early classics and from their mult-platinum comeback album Beautiful World.

Organisers of the event are hoping this will be the first in many New Year's Eve concerts for London. One thing is sure, with Take That performing, it's bound to be a massive success!

Congratulations Take That!

Click here to buy now!Huge congratulations to Take That!

The Official UK Charts on BBC Radio 1 last night placed Beautiful World at No 3 in the Top 10 albums. Rule the World is No 5 in the Top 10 singles. What a brilliant end to 2007!

We would like to say a big "thank you" to Take That for giving us the best 2007 we could possibly have hoped for! What a wonderful Tour, it's hard to believe that it went so fast! Though for Take That it probably didn't! They even managed to break a record at the MEN for the most number of consecutive nights performed there, 11 in total - all of which were sold out! If the Arena holds 14,000 people, that would be 154,000 at just the Manchester concerts!

After a gruelling 3 months on Tour, you would think that would be it for a while, but no - they are performing tonight at the O2 Arena, as part of ITV1's Countdown to Midnight! They will then have a few days off and then back performing on 11th January 2008 at the Undiluted Spirit Event for the Outward Bound Trust.

Here's hoping they will then take a bit of a breather, before starting on the next Album, they've certainly more than earned it! It's been a fabulous couple of years - here's looking forward to the future and another possible Tour, whenever the chaps are ready!

Thattereen Party - 3rd November 2007!

Oh dear, look at the Red Devil! Note to self: Get back on the diet!A great big thank you to everyone who came along to our Thattereen Party on Saturday, 3rd November at the Renaissance Hotel Manchester (65 Thatters in all)! We had a blast and raised quite a lot for charity at the same time! The Auction total came to £2,000! Thank you all so very much! It was great to put faces to names at last!

The Team setting up in the afternoonBig thanks also to the TTAP Team who helped set up during the day:-
Alf, Helen, Rach, Vicky, Laura, Natalya, Ursula, Lynne, Joan, Simone and Aaron - you are stars! The room looked amazing! Thanks also to little Millie aged 3 months, who is the youngest Thatter to assist at an event. She kept us all cooing and broody all afternoon. Just setting up built up the excitement. Another big thanks to M&S who sent us some Autograph posters!

Thanks also to the wonderful staff at the Renaissance, Joanne and her team, everything ran very smoothly. The food was fantastic, the layout perfect and all staff on duty were very helpful and friendly. The Buck's Fizz Reception area was really beautifully laid out. I think from the tone of this Report, you can see we were all delighted with everything and all who attended had a great time.

Davey doing sound checkHuge thanks also to Tony Blair (not that one) our DJ extraordinaire for the evening and to Mr Davey Nicholls, our wonderful cabaret act, who performed a number of Take That songs, and did them proud!

Davey donated his time despite suffering a nasty chest infection. Davey you were amazing and a fantastic performer, everyone was really impressed and can't wait to hear you again at our next events! Get well soon Davey! You are a star that shines very bright in our eyes!

Biggest thanks (apart from those to everyone who attended), go to Mr Tony Orange, our guest Auctioneer! Tony, you were wonderful! He went around the room chatting to people and making sure they were having a good time.

Tony was very generous with his time and happily posed for pictures with everyone who asked. His wonderful lady, Pat, was extremely patient with him disappearing and spending time with Thatters, telling some wonderful Jason anecdotes! Pat, it was lovely to meet you.

Tony then acted as our Auctineer, really rousing the room with fantastic bidding for items, the final total raised at the Auction was £2,000, as stated above - thank you all so very very much, but thank you Tony for making the Auction even more special with the additional Lots you donated.

It was a very special night, it was really good to see everyone having such a good time!

Thatters came from far and wide, including Rosemary and Kathleen from Belfast! Some even came along on their own, to their first Thatter event, but soon made new friends and put faces to those they knew from the TTAP Discussion Boards!

Can't wait to see you all again at our Tour events, Thatters most definitely know how to party and also Rule the World! You truly Shine! Nobody Else in this world can party like Thatters and that's for Sure! To see more pictures from the event, please visit our Gallery - click here!

Many thanks also to Tim from Event Travel for donating the pair of Take That Tickets and accommodation for 21st December (which went for £250 in the Auction); to Katherine from The XtraMile Embroidery and Jean from Pink Butterfly Jewellery, who donated 10% of their takings on the night to the Charity. Huge thank you particularly to Katherine, who then Auctioned off what was left on her stall and donated all proceeds to the Charity!

Congratulations Take That - RTW straight in at No 2!

Huge congratulations to Take That going straight into the charts at No 2 - though to us Thatters it is most definitely No 1!

Many of us were concerned last week when we couldn't find copies of Rule the World on the shelves of the major retailers, HMV and Virgin. At first we all thought it was because Take That were selling out as quickly as they were being put on the shelves, because there were loads of Leona and McFly CDs available still.

It just seems odd that Rule the World appeared to be sold out and yet Leona reached No 1? Where were the CDs? Why were the shelves empty of Rule the World? More importantly, why were staff at HMV actively promoting Leona at the tills? This is not sour grapes on the part of Thatters, if McFly had gone in at No 1 we would have understood it because they have a huge young fan base. Something appears very wrong in this. Some of us even had to resort to going to Woolies for CDs, because they appeared to be the only shop that had any from Tuesday onwards!

However, we don't want to detract from this fantastic achievement by Take That yet again! Take That Rule our World - You are and always will be No 1!

Howard's on the Mend - Statement from Take That!

We've just received the following update from the Polydor Press Office.

"Everyone I'm sure will be pleased to hear that Howard is making a speedy recovery and the doctors are very happy with his progress. He will as a result be rejoining his band mates in .Hamburg. on Wednesday .this week when the tour arrives there. Although it is still not clear when he will be back on stage performing with the other guys, the early indications are that it will be very soon.

Howard was discharged from Hospital in Vienna on Saturday afternoon and is currently resting with his family. Mark, Gary and Jason all visited Howard after the show in .Vienna. on Friday night along with the dancers and musicians to help cheer him up. They're all looking forward to him joining them this week in Germany."

This is excellent news! On behalf of everyone here at TTAP, we wish you a continued speedy recovery Howard! Good to know you are now back with your family recovering! Best wishes and thanks to Gary, Jason and Mark for keeping it all going!

Howard in Hospital - Get Well Soon Howard!

Click here to read the Statement! It has been announced on TTTV, in a Statement from Take That, that Howard is in hospital after suffering an injury during one of the recent concerts.

At the request of Howard; Gary, Jason and Mark performed the concert in Zurich tonight, as planned. This must have been very difficult for the chaps, because they are very much a tight unit these days. It is to their credit and total dedication to their fans that they have done the concert this evening without Howard. Nothing has been said about when Howard will return to the Tour, but the main priority is that he gets well soon and has a good recovery! He has been pulling out all stops to give the performance of his life for fans every night, as have they all. To read the Statement from Take That, please click here.

On behalf of everyone here at TTAP, we would like to wish Howard a very speedy recovery! Get Well Soon Howard! To Gary, Jason and Mark, thank you so much for carrying on and we hope it won't be too long before you are all back together again. Just so long as Howard is ok, that's all that matters!

Press/Media & Jonathan Ross: Get over it, we have!

Click here to read the Article. Not too sure what interview The Sun saw on Friday night, but it can't have been the one the rest of us saw! It's a scandal how the British Press can make a story out of nothing and then put a twist on it that didn't even happen! Take That did not make a plea for Robbie to return!

What actually happened was that, because it seemed that Jonathan Ross couldn't think of any interesting questions to ask, he appeared to repeat the same questions he asked prior to the Tour in 2006, including "will Robbie be joining you on Tour", which 18 months' on, a sell-out tour behind them, a multi-platinum album and 2 No 1 singles that did not include Robbie, would seem a totally pointless question to ask!

Take That were visibly annoyed at being asked the question, but consumate professionals that they are, they were polite and didn't answer the question directly but when pushed by Ross asking "would the door always be open for him to return", Gary said yes, "the door would always be open". Hardly a plea for Robbie to return!

The message from us Thatters is:

"Robbie Williams is no longer part of Take That! He left in 1995 and Take That split as a 4 piece in 1996. They reunited as a 4 piece and the offer for him to join them on Tour came in 2006 and he did not join them. Take That are now a 4 piece group and Robbie Williams is a solo artist! We have got over and accepted it, why can't you?"

Here are just some of the comments from the Message Board:-

"I don't think they were watching the same interview as the rest of us!"

"I agree, where do they get their info from wish they would just drop it!!!!!!!! Or someone tell the media once and for that this topic is CLOSED! Why do they keep bringing it up haven't they got anything else to do?"

"why do the press exist in a completely different world to the rest of us? The boys making a plea to Robbie to come back-I certainly didnt hear that. Perhaps the papers write what they think we want to hear-only we are more than able to make up our own minds"

"I'm getting so bored of this - same old dribble . It just makes me furious, Rob is working on getting himself better and the boys are doing an amazing job without him as they did all those years ago. I just wish they'd drop it."

"I cant believe people are still putting this in the press! Robbie will never get back with TT and to me TT are a four piece. Like you say they were not watching the same interview as us real fans! "

"I totally agree with all of you and I think Robbie is quite happy at the moment how his life is going so why should he come back?"

"Not this again! I knew as soon as I heard Jonathan Ross ask that question the media would jump on the bandwagon again. You could actually see the Boys are getting really fed up of being asked it. They have been incredibly successful without Robbie having three No.1's and definitely another one with Rule the World. They are going down two completely different career paths. I wouldn't actually mind Robbie singing with them again but I can live without it!"

The message seems loud and clear to us:

Press/Media and Jonathan Ross, MOVE ON, GET OVER IT - WE HAVE!

Take That Announce Cinema Gig - 22 December!

Wonderful news from the NME Website, is that Take That have announced that the concert at the MEN Arena on 22nd December 2007 will be shown live in 50 VUE Cinemas across the UK!

According to the report, the official statement says that, the footage will feature exclusive backstage action and "some very special surprises".

Manager of VUE Cinemas, Mark De Quervain, said: "The Beautiful World tour sold out in a matter of hours, leaving many fans disappointed, so the guys were delighted to be able to give them this opportunity to see the show. With the help of Vue's technology we hope to deliver the fans an unforgettable, live experience in their local theatres."

This is wonderful news for those Thatters who have not been able to get tickets to the actual concerts, because they will still be able to see their chaps live and have a unique cinema experience, another first for Take That, though this has been done by other artists in the past, most notably David Bowie.

FINALLY! The Speculation is Over!

Image via JPI StudiosAt long last the confirmation we have all been waiting for! Robbie will not be rejoining Take That!

Please click here to read the article on the GMTV website, which came from an email to Ross King from Gary.

The comment above is not a slur against Rob, just relief that finally the speculation is officially put to an end! Most Thatters have felt that this would be a wrong move for both sides for a long time, but for some reason the Press have always speculated. Take That came back in 2005 as a 4 piece, they actually split as a 4 piece at the height of their popularity. Rob has a wonderful new career as a solo artist, so they are now looked upon as separate artists.

Rob was very much part of the old Take That, and it is right to remember that. However, he left the group in July 1995. He has proven himself as a brilliant entertainer and successful solo artist. Take That reformed in 2005, had a fantastic sell out Arena and Stadium Tour in 2006 and are now looking forward to the sell-out European and UK Tour, starting in October.

Time to "leave it all behind now". It's a new era and it is so good to hear that fences have been mended and that they are all friends again. Here's to the future, whatever that may hold, and hopefully we will all see the return of Rob the solo artist very soon!

Concert for Diana - A Review

Courtesy of Virgin Media, click on pic for articleWhat a fantastic performance last night at the Concert for Diana by Take That! It was definitely the best of the day, really got the crowd going and even Princes William and Harry were having a bop - and knew the words!

The Concert for Diana was generally very good, though a few performers weren't on top form! Other notable performances were those of Elton John, Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Andrea Bocelli and the 3 Josephs (Donny Osmond, Jason Donovan and Lee Mead), absolutely fantastic. The Royal Ballet did a brilliant performance of the 4th Act of Swan Lake, it was lovely to see ballet represented at such a special occasion.

Copyright Mirror Newspapers 2007Take That were originally scheduled to also perform Never Forget, but for some reason they only did 3 songs (Shine, Patience and Back For Good). As things turned out, there would have been time for them to do it because Elton John came on late for his final performance and Ricky Gervaise had to do his best to fill in!

The concert was broadcast live on BBC 1 to 140 countries around the World. It was also on BBC Radio 2. There are some really nice Press articles today, please check out:-

Let's get that 11th No 1 with I'd Wait for Life!

Not long now until the release of "I'd Wait for Life" on Monday, 18th June 2007. It would be wonderful to show our support to Take That by getting them their 11th No 1, and the third from the Beautiful World Album!

This is a wonderful song, the first all four worked on when they got back together and resulted in the fantastic Beautiful World album. It would be a wonderful tribute to the boys to mark that special time by us helping to get that 11th No 1!

The B-side is "We All Fall Down", which has Mark as the lead! This is a previously unreleased song and not on the Beautiful World album.

For some reason there doesn't seem to be much airplay, but perhaps it will come in the next week, just before the release. We need to get it on the radio more, so perhaps if you have a special occasion or someone's birthday coming up, you could request "I'd Wait for Life"?

To have their 11th No 1 will give the boys a wonderful boost at the start of the hard couple of months ahead when they are rehearsing, plus it might encourage them to write that second album.

THATTERS UNITE! LET'S SHOW THEM SOME THATTER POWER!!

Exclusive Pictures of "I'd Wait for Life" in Heat!

Check out this week's Heat Magazine for exclusive pictures from "I'd Wait for Life" video shoot on page 28! Short article by Isabel Mohan . . .

"One of the many reasons we love Take That (we've got a long list pinned up on our bedroom wall) is because they never make boring videos. And they haven't let us down with their promo for new single "I'd Wait for Life". While other boybands merely sway around on stools when they release ballads, the Take That boys have filmed a colourful extravaganza featuring masks, bubbles and bizarre sequence of flashbacks. They're seen jovially playing cards, before we go back in time to some of their happiest memories."

Five Stars Scanner Appeal 5K Run - We did it!

At the finish, with Charmaine Owen, Director of Five Stars Scanner AppealIt was no April Fool! A Team of us Mad Thatters decided to do our bit for Five Stars Scanner Appeal by taking part in their annual 5K Fun Run at Heaton Park, Manchester!

Here you see us at the end of the race (well we walked!), after being presented with our medals by Charmaine Owen, Director of the Five Stars Scanner Appeal.

The team consisted members of the TTAP Discussion Boards: Vicky (Mark's Babe), Lisa (Jason's Girl), Lisa's mum, Jayne (Jayne30), with little Jake (5 months old), Netty (Netty), Changachops (Netty's eldest), Milly, Connie and me! Oh and Alf, my long-suffering one who took all the pics!

Jake at the end of his run, with his medal! We reckon that everyone else got it wrong though, because they all went running ahead to get there first, we were going for the longest time, not the quickest! We did it in 1 hour 7 minutes (5K)! In between we stopped to chat to the Aberdeen Angus type cattle, beautiful horses and a pic with the ambulance crew. Thanks to Vicky for bringing the music

We had a ball - We all got medals and a bottle of Vimto. Huge thanks to Five Stars for arranging a wonderful event. We will be doing it all again next year, this time going for 1 hour 30 mins .

We shook our pom poms each and every step. Special thanks to Jayne and Jakey for allowing me to push the pram half way round! I think it was the only thing keeping me up at that point!

Team TTAP - Well Done Crew!We have so far raised almost £800 on our JustGiving pages. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated! If you would like to make a donation, please visit the following links:-

Metro Arena warns Public over EBay Profiteers

Metro Radio Arena has announced that the public are advised not to purchase tickets from unofficial box offices or from EBay. Paul Tappenden, Marketing Director of the Arena said:

"Selling tickets on E-bay, which is classed as a public auction, is in itself not illegal, HOWEVER it breaches one of our conditions of sale listed on the reverse of the ticket stating they must not be re-sold for profit. "We also find that general tickets are selling on E-Bay for more that the original price even though there are normal price tickets still available for the show".

The Arena has now installed a new Bar Code Admission System which will identify tickets that are disputed, e.g. lost in post/stolen/sold on and these will not be allowed entry. Any person who cannot identify themselves as linked to the purchasers name on the ticket will be refused admission. The potential xmas present will turnout to be a real problem as voided tickets are not admitted .

This significantly helps ensure that those not entitled to be in the venue will be refused entry.

We have now ceased to guarantee front row tickets from the Box Office on the first day of sale, and Promoters are also now allocating some of them to official fan clubs who if genuine, should quite rightly enjoy this advantage.

Metro Radio have also recently changed their ticketline service to Ticketmaster, the Arena's official agent, for greater confidence and security."

Take That arrive in Taipei, Taiwan

Take That arrived safe and sound in Taipei, Taiwan at 23:30 hrs last night, at the start of a 3 day visit to Taiwan.

Thank you to Asakawa on our Message Boards for putting up a translation of a report on TVBS Website. Here is Asakawa's translation:

"After 10 years of splitting, Take That is back again and they have picked Taiwan as their only country from Asia to meet their fans. They arrived Taipei International Airport at night and lots of fans were already waiting for them. They were all holding Take That's photos from 10 years ago. Seems like the boys have all gained weight after so many years.

Journalist asked Gary how he felt and he said it was "GREAT". Gary was the first to walk out from the restricted area, Howard followed. Fans were holding England flag to welcome them and asked for photos & autographs. Take That signed all of them to make everyone happy.

Mark: "The last time I came here was 12 years ago. I am very excited and happy to see everyone here."

Howard: "So many fans have come to the airport, I am very surprised and want to say Hi to my mum!"

Jason: "I haven't been to Taiwan for 12 years and the world has changed. We have grown old too."

There were hundreds of fans at the airport, holding pictures of the boys of their last Taiwan trip (12 years ago), albums, books, trying to go back to their memory lane."
