Take That pick up a Penguin!

Click here to go to website.

Reported on the Bookseller website - www.bookseller.com that there will be a brand new Take That photographic book coming out! World Rights to a photographic book by Take That have been acquired by Rowland White at Michael Joseph from Eugenie Furniss and Sol Parker at William Morris and Jonathan Wild at 10 Management. The book is to be published in two volumes and will celebrate the Take That story, from the formation of the band in 1990 right up to the present day.

The images will include personal pictures, previously unseen images from the Take That archive, as well as specially commissioned, stunning new photography. The accompanying text will be written by the band.

Jonathan Wild, on behalf of the band said: "The guys have wanted to do a book for a long time, but it was important that the timing, as well as the creative idea was right. They're really looking forward to producing what will be a fantastic collector's piece featuring imagery spanning almost two decades along with comment which is both honest and personal."

White said: "The inspiring return of Take That has been pop's biggest and best good news story. And nothing short of astonishing. I'm very proud indeed that Penguin will be collaborating with the nation's favourite band on this ground- breaking and enormously exciting project."

The book will be published in October 2009 following the band's summer tour. According the The Sun, the cost will be around £25! Dare we hope for a book signing?

Kili Team Meet the PM and get an extra £2 million!

Comic Relief's celebrity climbers met Prime Minister Gordon Brown at Number 10 Downing Street yesterday, after all nine celebrities successfully conquered the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. So far The BT Red Nose Climb has raised over £1.5 million.

There was exellent news from the Prime Minister for the Team, when he announced that, as a result of the climbers' heroic efforts, the Government would give a further £2 million to malaria related work in Tanzania.

Gordon Brown said “Even when the country is going through tough times, Comic Relief shows us that Britain is filled with people willing to go that extra mile to help somebody else. People from every community and every walk of life who give their time to raise money for good causes. The stars here today have not just raised more than £1.5 million so far for Comic Relief, they have inspired millions of other people around the country to make their own efforts for Comic Relief, and it is because we appreciate their efforts so much that the Government will match the money they have already raised with an additional £2 million to tackle malaria in Kenya and Tanzania, saving thousands more lives every year”.

The Team then had afternoon tea with the Prime Minister, which was themed cakes and biscuits specially prepared by Downing Street staff that had Baked Something Funny for Money to tie with the Red Nose Day 2009 theme.

Gary Barlow said "It has been a privilege for the whole team to meet the Prime Minister today and under such special circumstances. To think that our efforts on the mountain and the incredible generosity of the public have inspired school children and have now been supported by the government is unbelievable. If the money raised can help control malaria and also help poor and vulnerable people in the UK it will all have been worthwhile. What an unforgettable day."

Gary will be joining a team of celebrity climbers to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief! Kilimanjaro is the world's highest free-standing mountain, 19,340ft (5,895m) above sea level. Sponsoring Gary
means you're supporting Comic Relief in their work to help change the lives of people in real need across the UK and Africa; like in Tanzania, the home of Mount Kilimanjaro, where Malaria kills thousands.
Giving as little as £5 can buy a mosquito net that will help to protect a mother and her child from this devastating disease.
