Jason: "No. I felt like a fake; I felt like I was acting and a true actor doesn’t feel like he’s acting. When I left the band, there was a panic like, “What next?” I knew that I wasn’t going to have a solo singing career, so I went along with the people advising me. They’d say, “Jason, you’ve got good looks, you’ve got this profile, you can get acting work.” I wasn’t thinking for myself, so just went along with it. I did two acting jobs and didn’t feel comfortable with either of them. I was out of my depth really."

Later this year, 5 Stars Scanner Appeal will be auctioning numerous costumes that the boys and their dancers wore on stage duringThe Ultimate Tour 2006.

A limited number of tickets will be available for the Action that will be held in a special location in Manchester.

8 May 2006: Take That sign a new recording deal with Polydor!

It has been confirmed! Take That have signed a new recording deal with POLYDOR! The following article is taken from the BBC News Website.

Take That sold 25 million records around the world in the 1990s. The reformed boyband Take That will record their first new album for a decade after their comeback tour was a hit. The new album will not feature original member Robbie Williams but will include songs written by all four other members and is due for release in the autumn.

"It's great for us all to be writing together for the first time," said Mark Owen. "We want to make a great record, the best record we've ever made.";

More than 400,000 tickets were sold for the tour, which started in April.  The band had eight UK number one hits between 1993 and 1996, selling 25 million records across the globe.  
 
Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange have signed the new contract with Polydor Records.  
 
The band will begin work on the album after their final tour date in Dublin on 28 June. A live DVD is also planned.
 
"When we met them, it quickly became clear their best songs and albums are yet to come," said Polydor co-president David Joseph.  
 
Polydor's other acts include Black Eyed Peas, Scissor Sisters, Kaiser Chiefs and the Pussycat Dolls. Take That were previously signed to Sony BMG.  
 
The group play sold-out dates at Wembley Arena on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Take That have moved their scheduled live dates at London's Wembley Stadium on 24th and 25th June to the Milton Keynes Bowl.

The dates remain unchanged and the rest of the band's tour dates (including Wembley Arena) are unaffected.

All concert tickets remain valid for their original dates. For fans who have tickets for Wembley Stadium but do not wish to attend the Milton Keynes Bowl concerts, refunds are available from original point of purchase until 1st May 2006.

30 March 2006: Wembley Stadium Dates -
Change of Venue for 24 & 25 June

No official confirmation yet from Take That Management, but it has been announced on BBC News today that the concerts booked for Wembley stadium in June have been cancelled and moved to alternative venues. In the case of Take That, it looks like this will be The National Bowl, Milton Keynes. Bon Jovi dates are being held at Twickenham.

Mark appeared on the Kev Seed Breakfast Show on Radio City here in Liverpool this morning. It is part of his promotional tour around Radio Stations and TV for the new single "Four Minute Warning", due to be released on 4 August 2003.

It was a really good interview, Mark seemed to be very relaxed and enjoying the programme, with lots of laughter and banter between him and the team on the programme. Kev Seed has always been a strong supporter of Take That and was obviously delighted to have Mark on his show. "Four Minute Warning" was played twice during the programme.

Kev Seed ended with the words "Welcome Back Mark Owen!". Couldn't have put it better myself!

Slightly disappointed to see that the only reference to his almost 6 years with Take That reads as follows:-

"His blossoming DJ career was interrupted when he was plucked from obscurity to sing all around the world with 3 or 4 other blokes. Even during this time at any opportunity he could be found behind the decks at the occasional party he and his friends endured."

It could be the Bio is not yet fully complete. Why not go over and check the site out yourself! It is still not 100% finished, but there is a place for you to contact Howard and his Diary is also there.

"Since I arrived home from the tour I have been revamping my home recording studio. It's going to be so nice. I did most of my vocals for "Somewhere In Time" there and most of the writing for the next record will be done in the new studio. FORMER Take That singer Howard Donald has admitted he can't stand listening to old bandmate Robbie Williams! Howard was one fifth of Britain's biggest boy band when they notched up 13 Top 10 singles, including a string of No 1s, before they disintegrated in 1995.

Howard attempted to launch a solo career during the fall-out as
Robbie, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Gary Barlow went their separate ways. But the dreadlocked star's record label refused to release his debut solo album and he disappeared from view.

Howard, who was once described as "thick" by Robbie, says he no longer listens to pop music and can't stomach hearing Robbie's hits on the radio. He admitted: "I haven't spoken to Robbie Williams and I don't listen to his music. It's not the sort of stuff I would buy, but millions seem to like it."

Grudgingly, he adds: "Robbie has established himself and is a great performer, I suppose. He is a megastar now but without Take That he would be nothing. The band was his apprenticeship. His criticisms of me don't bother me. Robbie is Robbie and all he has done since he left the group is take the p***."

But Howard is making a comeback of his own, this time as a DJ, and, this weekend, the long and winding road takes him to Scotland. Quickly becoming a sought-after name behind the decks with his funky house selection, he makes his Scottish debut at the glamorous Eye Candy event at Edinburgh's Club Massa on Saturday.

But despite his steady return to success, Howard, who is still pals with all his ex-bandmates except Robbie, has ruled out any
possibility of a rumoured Take That comeback. Howard, 30, said: "Take That could tour without Robbie but we will never re-form. The rumours aren't true.

"I see Gary a lot and speak to Mark and Jason sometimes. Gary is doing really well and Mark just got a new deal. Jason is away travelling and he is difficult to track down. I suppose if somebody wanted us to do a one-off performance for a million pounds, then, yeah, it's possible - but I doubt it."

"I wouldn't do a solo career. There are too many good singers and solo artists out there. The music business is a difficult place to be in these days." But he says he is happier than ever, having resurrected the DJ-ing career he put on hold to be in Take That, and taking care of his three-year old daughter, Grace.

He says: "I've been at the decks since before the group and I've only taken it up again recently. I'm in the lucky position where people come to see me because I'm a name, then come back because of the music. It was difficult to adjust after Take That split. It took a year for me to realise how difficult it was to carry on without them. I had to get used to the fact that I was no longer with the four friends I'd been with 24 hours a day for years."

"Thankfully, I had enough money to go on a long holiday and think about what I really wanted to do. "I don't even listen to pop music any more. When I became a dad it mellowed me out but it didn't stop me wanting to work. If I wasn't doing this now, I would go insane."

Howard adds: "I want to be a successful DJ and not to live off the name of Take That. "But I'm definitely proud of my past. It's not like I'm embarrassed by it."

The Gary Barlow Official Website is no more! Having checked out the domain registration, It appears that it was DETAGGED (whatever that means) on 17 March 2003, which probably means that's when the official site was removed from the web.

It seems that Gary has finally closed that chapter on his career, but it is a huge disappointment to fans for the site to have been removed - even if it was just an archive. Yes Gary may have moved on, but he still has fans and always will have as long as his music is there. It's a shame he doesn't recognise that!

Still, onwards and upwards, I hope this new career will bring him as much success - if not more

TAKE THAT ARE VOTED SMASH HIT - 11 April 2003

TEEN heart-throbs Take That have been voted the greatest boyband in history in a survey out today.

The '90s group which spawned Robbie Williams beat rivals Boyzone and Westlife by notching up 23 covers of pop magazine Smash Hits, the most of any act and seven more than the two Irish bands.

The band's success has been tallyed by the magazine as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.

Madonna's two covers in 1984 and 2001 make her the most enduring Smash Hits cover star while Paul Gascoigne remains the only footballer to have been on its front page.

Despite his relatively short career, Aussie singer Jason Donovan bagged ten front covers, three more than Kylie Minogue.

And girl power group the Spice Girls managed seven front covers.

Former Smash Hits editor Mark Frith, now editor of Heat, said: "People have an incredible sentimental feeling towards Smash Hits. "It is part of most teenagers' lives."

Stuart also says that at Ultima, being held in Chester on 21 April, Howard is DJ’ing at the after party…. It is common that at these sorts of events an additional party is arranged after the main event! Unfortunately this means that anyone wanting to go will have to pay £25-£35 for the ticket to the main event and then a further fee (Stuart thinks possibly £10-£20) for the after party ticket! It is a way of the promoters maximising their profits!

It may well be better therefore if you go along to Garlands earlier in the evening.

The long awaited "Talent Shows" programme featuring Gary, in the Fame, Set and Match series, is being shown tonight as a "Christmas Special".

The programme begins at 9.00 pm (UK time) on BBC2. It features stars and artists who have come to prominence through appearing on TV Talent Shows. This obviously relates to Gary's appearance on "Song for Christmas" all those years ago!

Other stars featured in the show are Britney Spears, Sheena Easton and comedy duo Little & Large. The programme has interviews with "colleagues and friends" (quote from BBC's Radio Times magazine) of the people featured, including Donny Osmond, Andi Peters and Eliot Kennedy.

It was reported on Liverpool's Radio City that Gary and his business partner, Elliot Kennedy, are to produce a new boyband. Gary was in Liverpool this week at LIPA (Liverpool Academy for Performing Arts) auditioning people for the band and had got numbers down to the last 15. We are contacting the radio station to find out if there is any more information.
