I am watching it on my Sky+ at the moment, it tickled me that the first episode was called Everything Changes! lol
Waiting for a TT appearance!!!! :cloud9:
Watched the first one but got about 15 mins into the second and switched off! What a load of twaddle. I gave the first one some leeway as it was an "introduction" episode but the second was just plain rubbish!! And a bit TOO adult for my liking for that type of show!

I actually really liked it.
Since coming to the UK a few years ago I became a real Dr Who fan (doesn't exist in Germany...) and I really liked Captain Jack (yum, yum!)
anyway really had a nice evening on Sunday watching the two episodes but was quite surprised at the sexual content of the show (slightly older market they are aiming for? - probably the reason why they air it at 10pm - LOL)
There was one moment when Jack looked at the girl (what's her name again?) from the side and he soooo had the Dr-Who-looks-at-Rose-look... oooooaahhhhh...... lovely... but it was rather obvious at that point that it was a Dr Who spinoff, I thought

I kinda liked it. I liked the way we're gonna get all the 'how did Jack get back to earth' stuff revealed gradually.
And it so badly all points to a Jack-Doctor show down at some point in the future.
But I have so many questions about stuff (I'm a DW nut)
1. If Jack knows about the battle of Canery Wharf - does he know about Rose dying?
2. Why wasn't he there?
3. Does he know that Torchwood is anti-Doctor?
Although episode 2 was a 'Species' rip off. Think they went for shock value a little too much there.
And gotta love love love John Barrowman in that coat!
Well, it is aimed at an adult audience. I read an interview with the creator of Torchwood and he said that the reason for the shocking first couple of episodes was to set the tone of the series. It was to pre-warn people how different it will be from Doctor Who.

I want to add one... who's hand is it? and why is it so important to him?
I'm 99% sure it's the doctors hand (the one that was cut off during the Christmas episode last year) which is why it's so important to him :)
Yeah, I think it is the Doctor's hand. I think it means that much to him because it's his only link to him.
Helen :)
oooohhh yeeeeaaahhh..... sounds more and more like a doctor/jack reunion thing coming up...
how exciting!!!!!
and also.. it's so good to have torchwood on telly now, so that we don't have to wait till christmas for the doctor.
oh, thinking of the two running parallel.. do you think they'd build the reunion thing (if it happens... *cross fingers*) into both shows? They did the same when melrose place span off from beverly hills (yep.. I loved jason priestley... )
I watched it on BBC 2 on Wednesday and I really enjoyed the program. Can't wait to see more :)

I saw them. They were fantastic!! Jack meeting the real Captain Jack Harkness was quite moving. It was great to hear a bit more about his past though.
End of Days was a rollercoaster of emotion and I absolutely loved it!! I can't wait to see Jack with the new doctor.......and also the new series of Torchwood.
Well done RTD on a fantastic and successful spin-off!!
Helen :)

Hmm John Barrowman is extremely fit! Apparently he was quite popular about 15 years ago. It rings a bell but I can't think what else he was in back then..anyone help out?

Our Helen is in Cardiff tonight, along with the long-suffering one who has gone in my place. Hoping she'll bring back a load of pics both of JB and also the locations seen in Torchwood.
They are staying at a little hotel just opposite one of the venues :)

Watched this last night (good old sky+ box!) and it was great. We all love Doctor Who here but its great to watch something that is a bit more 'grown-up' and yet in the same genre. I like the fact that it is all based on earth as well which in some ways adds to the 'strangeness'. All these alien things happening in an ordinary Welsh city which could be where I live (only I dont!)
Actually I have freaked myself out now and am looking nervously out of the window;) :D
