 I loved The Royale Family, I have a couple of the videos. What can I say...... It was a comedy classic. My favorite clip from show has to be Denise and her husband singing to the baby David over the cot. And the one were Anthony brings his grlfriend and her parents over to meet the family, that whole episode is brilliant. Thats really good to hear they are making a new one-off episode, reakon we might see that around christmas.
hehe, my mums got a series of this, and i can remember i used to sneakily watch it... i think its a 12 and at the time i mustve been about 8 or 9, but i found it really funny... that fat guy that always used to sit in that chair.... and um... the old one... whatshername??? NORMA thats it! I can remember her wanting to go home and she was moaning saying "I CANT MISS HEARTBEAT OR I MIGHT ASWELL BE DEAD!" hehe lol! :rolleyes5:

Aww I love The Royle Family. It's so realistic of normal families. People often say it's Northern humour, but I dont think so. I'm from London and still identify with arguing over who will make a cuppa and buying things out of the catalogues!! It's just like watching your own family lol

I love it too its most amusing. One of my friends for some reason bought me a Jim Royale doll and you press his belly and he swears at you!! I have no idea what i did to deserve such a fab gift :rolleyes5: it didnt end there she made me take him shopping to bbqs to the gym etc and i had to take pics of him doing various activities with me, it was a dare and i dont like losing so i did it all and i was most embarrassed to say the least :embarassed: he ius now somewhere in the back of a cupboard and he shall stay there. From now on Jim on the tv is enough for me xxxxx

I didnt enjoy my Jim Royal doll at all i found it to be ever so slightly embarrasing to take to family functions and pretending to feed him a burger in front of the in laws was not amusing!! He is safely locked in a cupboard now if you ever want another one Jenny let me know, as were now friends you can have him for free xxx

Ok Jenny no worries but the offer is there if you ever change your mind. What puts me off my Jim Royal doll is he looks similar to my best friends other best friend, the only difference is that my Jim doll doesnt have one of those slow electric bicycles, if it did they would be twins!!!

Are there dvd's of this show??!! Omg...I have to have them!
I used to watch this show with my dad, and even though British family habits are quit different from the Dutch (like the Sunday lunch/tea) we loved it and it was SO recognisable!
Yes, there are DVDs available Tessy .. including the latest episode discussed in this thread. It's entitled "The Queen of Sheba" and is available on Amazon, Play etc.

Thanks nat-nat, I guess there goes another splash at Amazon...ah well it's the holidays!;)
I had the New episode given to me for christmas and the boyfriend came over a couple of weeks ago so I thought we'd watch it....I ended up crying thru most of the end of it! :( It reminded me of sooo much I had to go thru in the past. Thankfully Ali (BF) was there to look after me :)
