I haven't watched Byker Grove for years, but I felt sad when I heard it's ending.
I still remember Ant & Dec as PJ & Duncan! (How sad was it when PJ was blinded in the paint ball accident? :'( )

I will always think of them as pj and duncan! It was extremly sad when pj went blind and i will never go paintballing because of that episode.
I loved byker grove. My ex was on it once, when they went for a day out to seahouses, he used to work on the boats, and he helped spuggie off the boat. He was obsessed with nichola ( jill halfpenny) and i used to get sooo jealous! I was only 14 at the time! :)

Oh my God, didn't know it was still, on i used to love that programme, with Spuggy in!! Sad to hear it's gone for good though
God Spuggie was my faveourite - she ran away with her brother didnt she. I remember thinking all the kids on byker grove were WELL hard ! Im 26 so guess i probably watched it since the beginning. I wonder why they are finishing it ? its so good !!! my mate cath has all the old episodes video'd cos she loved pj and duncan - would love to get her to lend them me ! ;D
Byker Grove was my favouritest (not english, but good word!) show when I was younger. Like lucy said, being 24, I can remember most of the early ones, i'm sure I had a very young crush on Gill (I think, got squashed joyriding didn't he?), as well as the guy that played Gary (of the noddy and gary kiss!).
Not been the same for a long time thouh.
I even did an english oral presentation on it when I was 13/14!!!
x
I have the a few series on tape (not Pj and Duncan era, more Greg, Ollie and Ben era)
Im sure there were never two people with the same name...

I think on BBC it has shows for young children (8 under) like cbeebee's or however you spell it and they have the cbbc channel for like 9- 12 yr olds but nothing really for teenagers and i think like shows such as byker grove and grange hill were great for teenagers and highlighted alot of issues, which was great....... :)
Ive gotta say that I actually learnt alot on Byker Grove.
Shall miss it :(
One more series and then its all gone :'(
I think they should bring it out on DVD
^ maybe they will, I mean its been around for donkey years and its a classic ;)
I loved watching Byker Grove in the days of PJ and Duncon, Debbie, Jemma, Jeff, Spuggie, and others lol. It was brilliant back in those days, but I haven't watched it for around 10 years now.
Shame that it's being taken off the air.

I'm 29 and gutted they are getting rid of Byker.
We have so much to thank them for.... what would life have been like without "Let's get ready to rumble" - absolute chart classic - psyche!!
(Yes I do have the tape at home too!) *;D ;D
^ LOL... do you know the dance? ;D
I used to watch in the PJ & Duncan era too, stopped watching when I 'grew up' - something a bit creepy about woman of my age watching a bunch of teenagers. lol. My friend has ginger hair & we used to call her Spuggie! She hated it! lol ;D Then again they used to say I looked like (Patsy? - is that her name? the one who turned goth) which wasn't all that flattering either. My evil friend also used to say I looked like Mary the gypsy & the disabled girl both out of Grange Hill. None of them look like each other so don't know where she came to that conclusion! Just on the wind-up I guess.
